On April 30, 2021, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Interdepartmental Commission accepted the results of work on the reconstruction of the sea checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.
Since 2019, Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” Public Limited Company (operator of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg) has been implementing a project of the reconstruction of the sea checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation.
Within the framework of the project, a new infrastructure was created for the for border and customs control procedures of all types of vehicles, including buses, cars and trucks that are transported by ferries. Thus, the operator of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg strives to create the most favorable conditions for ferry lines and establish year-round navigation in St. Petersburg. Previously, ferries moored on the territory of the Marine Station, located on Morskoy Slava Avenue, the outdated infrastructure did not allow passengers to use the services comfortably and safely. The modern infrastructure built on the "Marine Facade" will successfully solve the problems of high-quality, fast and safe service to all customers of the ferry lines.
This project is being implemented within the
South-East Finland – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014 – 2020, which provided a grant for its implementation in the amount of 2,560,000 euros.
On April 30, 2021, the constructed facilities were checked by the Ministry of Transport of Russia as part of an interdepartmental commission, which also included representatives of FSI “Rosgranstroy”, Border authority of the Federal Security Service of Russia, Federal Customs Service of Russia, Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer and Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance.
The members of the commission examined a new complex of buildings and structures intended for the organization of border, customs and other types of control. All works were accepted by the commission without any comments.
In accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the publication of an order on the opening of the checkpoint is expected in the next two months.
