Inaugural call of Monarch

Today, on July 7th, cruise ship Monarch operated by Pullmantur made its Inaugural call to Passenger port of Saint Petersburg.
At the time she was launched, in 1991, Monarch was one of the largest ships in the world. In 2012 the ship was renovated. In the beginning the ship was named Monarch of the Seas and operated by Royal Caribbean International. In 2013 she changed the name and as well as Empress and Sovereign was moved to Pullmantur.
Monarch holds her place in history for being the first ever major cruise ship to have a women captain at the helm. Swedish born Karin Stahre Janson took charge in 2007
She has 12 decks, 1193 cabins, 268 meters length and capacity of carrying 2733 passengers on board.
Pullmantur is a Spanish cruise line with expertise in the travel industry dating back almost a quarter of a century.
Pullmantur operates 5 ships fleet Empress, Horizon, Zenith and 2 sister ships Monarch and Sovereign.
After Passenger port of St. Petersburg Monarch will move to Helsinki, sailing around the Baltic region.
During the 2016 cruise season Monarch make 6 calls to the Port.
