“Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Fa?ade” PLC and «Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG)» signed an agreement on cooperation

Today, on October 14
th, within the framework of the international tourism exhibition event INWETEX – CIS TRAVEL MARKET «Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC and «Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG)», the managing company of Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, signed an agreement on cooperation in development of St. Petersburg’s potential as the leading Russian and worldwide tourist center.
Among the main areas of cooperation these should be noted: parties will conduct activities in collaboration with public authorities of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg, aiming at simplifying the visa regime and the order of stay in Russia for foreign citizens and persons without citizenship, who arrive for tourist purposes by plane and passenger ships; acceleration of the customs control and luggage registration procedures.
Moreover, the companies intend to develop a joint initiative to provide the possibility of a 72-hour visa-free stay for the tourists arriving in St. Petersburg by aircraft and departing by cruise ships and ferries, and in the opposite direction.
According to “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC representatives, about 9 000 tourists arrived to St. Petersburg like that in 2016, but all of them had a visa. In case of the proposed 72-hour visa-free stay initiative, the number of passengers may grow significantly.
As Nana Gvichiya, the Vice Chairman of the Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development, has noted: "This initiative is very important for the city because the already existing possibility of visa-free stay for the tourists arriving by cruise and ferry vessels has changed the attitude to St. Petersburg and the number of tourists has increased".
Also the agreement between “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC and «Northern Capital Gateway LLC (NCG)» provides the increase of information partnership intensity; organisation and joint participation in specialised congresses and exhibitions and also in various social and public activities, and other areas of cooperation.
