The management of "PP SPb MF" PLC participated in the ceremony of laying the History of the Arctic Convoys Museum

Today, on 1
st of March 2017, at Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland shipping the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the History of the Arctic Convoys Museum of 1941-1945 was held.
The management of "PP SPb MF" PLC represented by General Director Vadim Kashirin together with representatives of the Administration of St. Petersburg, the General Consulates of the Allied countries of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War and the maritime community took part in the event, which was opened by the opening speech of the University Rector Sergei Baryshnikov.
Within the framework of the ceremony there was a presentation of the Museum, which, according to the organizers, will contain the most complete and unique exposition, which has no analogues in the world. The main goal of the museum is to preserve and strengthen peace between the peoples of all countries, as well as a tribute to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
The guests of the event also witnessed the laying of the Arctic icebreaker «Krasin» model, a participant in the Arctic Convoys, which this year marks the 100th anniversary of its launch.
At the end of the official part of the meeting, a solemn laying of flowers at the monument "To the Memory of the Sailors of the Polar Convoys of 1941-1945" took place.
It should be noted that "PP SPb MF" PLC cooperates with Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland shipping on realization of numerous educational, social and sports projects. For example, students of the International Transport Management & Logistics in Admiral Makarov University of Maritime and Inland Shipping traditionally hold their main festive event ‘Initiation into a studentship’ on the Port’s territory, and also during studies they have the opportunity to do professional internship in the Port.
Students of the university also take part in the annual sports festival "Marine Mile", which takes place on the territory of "PP SPb MF" PLC in autumn.
