Inaugural call of Columbus

Today, on July 29
th, cruise ship Columbus operated by Cruise & Maritime Voyages made its inaugural call to Passenger port of Saint Petersburg. The company was founded in 2010. It operates 6 ships fleet.
Columbus was built in 1989, refurbished in April 2017. It has 11 decks, 775 cabins, 247 m length and capacity of carrying 1400 passengers on board. The crew is 514 persons. The ship offers a wide range of entertainment and services, including seven different relaxation areas with bars, two specialized coffee and tea shops, outdoor pools, a variety of restaurants, a show program and much more. Cruises on the ship are aimed at English middle-aged tourists, whose prerogative is comfort.
This cruise ship that sails under Bahamas flag has left Port of Tilbury (London, England) on July 23
rd 2017 for a twelve-day Baltic cruise and has already called port of Copenhagen (Denmark), Warnemünde (Germany) and Helsinki (Finland). After St. Petersburg it will also call the ports of Tallinn (Estonia) and Nynäshamn (Sweden), and then come back to port of departure on August 4th.
Traditionally a welcome plaque ceremony was arranged on board the vessel.
Until the end of summer season 2017 Columbus will visit the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg 2 times. Today there is also Mein Schiff 6 cruise ship at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.
