“Under the electric clouds” directed by Aleksei German Jr. won the Silver Bear award at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. The award was presented to cameramen Yevgeny Privin and Sergei Mikhalchuk for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for Cinematography. Some scenes of the movie were shot on the territory of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg.
The story unfolds in Russia of 2017 on the brink of a civil war. The novellas of the poetic drama “Under the electric clouds” tell about the lives of very different people with different social backgrounds. “It was important for us to grasp, through interlacement of people’s stories, the feeling of the country that is so incredibly diverse and filled with contradictions and dissenting mentalities” – says the director about his work. Other scenes of the movie were shot at “Lenfilm”, in Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, and in Sharovka village near Kharkov.
