Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg at Seatrade Cruise Global 2018

The 34th Seatrade Cruise Global annual specialized exhibition took place on March 5-8, 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S. It is considered to be the largest event in the cruise industry, which traditionally brings together representatives from leading cruise corporations, major seaports, shipbuilders, tour operators and ship owners.

 

Employees of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg Marine Facade PLC, together with representatives of St. Petersburg tourist industry, answered all questions regarding the city and the port that were of interest to visitors. In particular, they talked about the city’s capabilities to receive and handle modern cruise ships and the unique opportunity of a 72-hour visa-free stay in Russia, which was available for foreign nationals traveling aboard cruise ships and ferryboats.    
 
During the international exhibition, the leadership of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg Marine Facade PLC held a series of business meetings with representatives of cruise companies and associations and the parties discussed the prospects for further beneficial cooperation and the development of the cruise industry in the Baltic Sea region and particularly in Saint Petersburg. In addition, they discussed the possibility of Saint Petersburg hosting the Cruise Europe international conference.

The parties shared their opinions with respect to their expectations of the 2018 cruise season, discussed the potential increase in the large-dimension cruise ship arrivals to the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and identified the main factors that would contribute to passenger traffic growth over the coming years.

 
During the talks, cruise lines expressed their full satisfaction with the services offered in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and their intentions to continue to actively cooperate in the future and confirmed their desire to bring new ships to the Port.

In addition, Passenger Port of St. Petersburg Marine Facade PLC representatives took part in the largest specialized conference, the State of the Global Cruise Industry, as part of the exhibition. It was dedicated to the prospects and challenges related to the development of the cruise industry. At the conference, the port employees were able to listen to papers of leading industry experts, including the CEOs of cruise corporations, on the most pertinent industry issues, such as technologies and innovations in the field of security, shipbuilding and development prospects.
 
More than 700 companies from all over the world took part in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2018 and more than 10 thousand people attended the exhibition. Next year the exhibition will be held April 9-11 in Miami, U.S. Passenger Port of St. Petersburg Marine Façade PLC plans to take part in the exhibition in conjunction with the key enterprises in the St. Petersburg tourist industry.
