18.05.2014 one of the largest cruise ships of the world - Royal Princess – called for the first time Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.

18th May was marked with an outstanding event in the life of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg – calling of the largest throughout the Port’s navigation 330 - meter cruise ship Royal Princess, owned by the company «Carnival Corporation & plc».

Within the 11 - day cruise ship visited the ports of Warnemunde and Tallinn, in Saint-Petersburg will stay for two days and then will head to Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Aarhus. Quantity of passengers aboard - 3500.

Capacity of 19 - deck cruise ship is 4,200 people, port of registry - Bermuda. The ship was laid down in 2011 at the shipyard "Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani". In June 2013 Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, participated in the ceremony of launching the ship and christened the cruise ship as Royal Princess.

On the occasion of the maiden call of the cruise ship Royal Princess in St. Petersburg on 19th May shall be a plaques exchange ceremony on board. The same day is scheduled a meeting with senior vice president of the subsidiary «Carnival Corporation & plc» Princess Cruises and master of the ship Royal Princess with master of the Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg, director of FGU "Seaport Administration "Bolshoy Port of St. Petersburg", director of FGUP "Rosmorport", representatives of "INFLOT World Wide Plc." and PLC "Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Fa?ade" to discuss the navigation details of the first call of the Royal Princess to Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and recommendations for future calls.

During the summer navigation of 2014 scheduled 11 cruise ship calls of Royal Princess, including 10 cruises which will start their route from the Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg.

In 2014 Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg will host 101 calls of this operator. It is expected that quantity of guests arriving in the city in 2014 on its ships will be more than 230 thousand passengers.
