Laying Flowers at the Smolensk Cemetery

Today, on the eve of the Victory Day on May 9, at the solemn funeral ceremony at the Smolensk Mass (Blockade) Memorial Cemetery “Island of the Decembrists”, representatives of the Passenger Port honored the memory and laid wreaths at the memorials of fallen soldiers and children who died during the Blockade.
The ceremony was attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, residents of the Vasileostrovsky District, representatives of the District administration and municipalities, students of educational institutions. Youlia Kiselyova, the Head of the Vasileostrovsky District Administration, congratulated veterans on the Victory Day.
The event ended with a minute of silence and a military salute.
Employees of Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg “Marine Facade”, PLC traditionally take part in events on the eve of the Great Victory Day and in the improvement of the mass grave at the Smolensk cemetery.
