24 May 2018
Today, the Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg welcomed the absolutely new German cruise liner – Mein Schiff 1 NEW. The ship was built for TUI Cruises at the shipyard of Meyer Turku (Finland). The first cruise took place on May 19 from Kiel.
By tradition, the liner welcomed the on-board ceremony of exchanging commemorative plaques between the Port representatives and the Captain Kjell Martin Hakansson Holm.
The main language on board is German. Most tourists came from Germany; there are also guests from Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands. Passengers have already evaluated the services of the newest Mein Schiff 1 NEW, especially highlighting her relaxed atmosphere, opportunities for sports activities, and a variety of gourmet restaurants.
In winter, the ship will be based in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria Island, making cruises in the Canary Islands.
