Today a new cruise ship has visited Passenger port of Saint Petersburg – Minerva. 330 passengers have come to St. Petersburg aboard the ship.
Minerva, which belongs to a British company Swan Hellenic, came to St. Petersburg during its first Baltic Sea cruise of 2015. The 16 day journey also includes Kalmar, Kiel, Copenhagen, Rønne, Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki.
Built in 1989, Minerva was initially designed to be a research vessel but later was bought by the Swan Hellenic cruise company. The ship is 133 meters long, fits 350 passengers and has a cruising speed of 14 knots.
The Disney Magic cruise ship of Disney Cruise Line (subdivision of Walt Disney Company) has also called Passenger port of Saint Petersburg today. After a four year break it the second call of Disney Magic to Passenger port of Saint Petersburg in 2015. The ship is 300 meters long, has 11 decks and a cruising speed of 21,5 knots. Disney Magic was launched in 1998 and christened by Patricia Disney.
