Representatives of "Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg "Marine Fa?ade" PLC have made a study visit to the ports of Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn.

Between September 21 and 24 representatives of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg "Marine Façade" PLC have made a study visit to the ports of Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn. The main goal was to learn about the way the ports’ reception of cruise and ferry ships, as well as of their passengers, is organized.

Representatives of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg "Marine Façade" PLC had a chance to visit the territories of cruise and ferry terminals, study the features of passenger and transport operations at the ports, familiarise themselves with the organisational structure of the companies – marine terminal operators – and their development plans. Considering that the Baltic Sea region is perceived by cruise lines as a single tourist destination, the Baltic ports must coordinate their development as they aim to receive the increasing numbers of the new ships. For instance, all the ports above are constructing or reconstructing their berth lines to be able to receive larger ships. This accords with the strategy of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg, where the berth No. 7 is soon to be upgraded to allow for positioning of two 330m ships at berths 6 and 7 simultaneously.

In the 7 years of operation Passenger port of Saint Petersburg has already achieved high international acclaim, but the improvement of service quality remains the priority of the company. Study visits, like the one that took pace last week, help to learn and apply best practices used by our closest neighbour in their operations.
