During the working visit to the People’s Republic of China representatives of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC have attended the opening event of the office of the national agency Visit Russia, that took place in Beijing. Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Sergey Korneev (Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation), representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, China National Tourism Administration and of leading tourism industry organizations have all given inaugural speeches. All participants have noted that the opening the first Visit Russia office in China is of special significance and expressed their hopes for future development of bilateral ties between our countries.
On October 13-15 “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC in cooperation with the St. Petersburg Committee on Tourism Development, St. Peter Line ferry company and leading maritime tourism organizations participated in the milestone 10th China Cruise Shipping Expo & Conference in Shanghai. The CCS exhibition is one of the largest cruise tourism events in the region and serves as an important platform for communication between tourism industry, main cruise lines and state authorities of China. During the conference, leaders of the world’s biggest cruise companies – Carnival Corporation & plc, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, MSC – have made their addresses, and a six party memorandum on cooperation in China cruise tourism development was signed.
Taking into account the development of relations between Russia and China in the tourism domain, increased incoming tourist traffic from China and increased demand for Baltic Sea cruises in the countries of East and South-East Asia, during the exhibition representatives of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC presented St. Petersburg as a tourist destination. They have also made a report for representatives of Chinese tourism industry on the creation and development of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg and its unique infrastructure capacities for cruise ship homeporting.
