Kick-Off Project Meeting under the South-East Finland – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014 – 2020
07 March 2019
On March 6, 2019, the House of Finland hosted the kick-off meeting for the project of Reconstruction of the marine permanent multilateral Russian Federation State border checkpoint at the seaport Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” (KS1437, Multipass Port). The meeting was organized between the Managing Authority of the South-East Finland – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014 – 2020, the Lead Partner of “PP of SPb MF” PLC, and the project partners: the port of Hamina-Kotka. At the meeting, the Lead Partner made the project presentation; and the Managing Authority of the program announced the key terms and conditions applicable to the project implementation.
The meeting was aimed at supporting the funding transparency and project activities; it provides an opportunity to get answers to any questions that may arise at this project implementation stage. Ensuring effective information exchange between the parties to the contract is a core ingredient of interaction between the partners of the consortium to complete the project successfully. In view of the above, a kick-off meeting was held with each grantee under large investment projects.
Earlier, on February 21, 2019, at the House of Finland, the Russian and Finnish parties signed a grant contract for the implementation of the above checkpoint reconstruction project. The grant is financed out of funds of the European Neighborhood Instrument under the Program. The European Commission decided to sign the grant contract in August 2018.
