At the meeting, which was held in the building of the State Academic Capella on March 15, 2016, the results of 2015 were summed up for the tourism industry of St. Petersburg and North-West region, and the expectations and plans for the high season 2016 were highlighted.
Chairman of the Russian Union of Travel Industry North-West Division Office Leonid Fleet in his speech noted the positive dynamics of passenger traffic in Passenger port of St. Petersburg and the increase in the total number of tourists arriving in the North capital by sea in 2015 by 2% compared to the figures of 2014.
Also as part of the report the audience were informed about the future plans of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg - about increasing of the popularity of St. Petersburg as cruise and ferry center, the development of the city's port as the turn around port for cruises and reclassification of the State Border Checkpoint.
