On the 20.04.2016 a meeting on the organization and provision of passenger operations during the navigation 2016 was held in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.

On April 20 traditional annual meeting dedicated to the opening of the navigation season 2016 was held in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. The aim of the event is to introduce tour operators - partners of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg with the plans for the upcoming navigation, changes and innovations in terms of the organization of passenger operations and transport security. Annually organized meeting provides an opportunity for participants to receive detailed answers from representatives of city and regional administrations, governmental control bodies and the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg on the issues arising in the course of servicing cruise ship passengers.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 92 tour operator companies, who were able to get acquainted with the reports of the Deputy Captain of seaport "Passenger Port of St. Petersburg", the representatives of the Committee on transport of St. Petersburg, Committee on Tourism and Development of St. Petersburg, the Administration of Vasileostrovsky district, Deputy Head of Checkpoint "St. Petersburg Sea Passenger Port ", Chief of Skipper customs post, Acting Head of the supervision department of transport and sanitary protection of the territory, as well as senior inspector for special assignments for the organization of the department of migration control of FMS.
Also, the meeting was attended by representatives of the police on protection of public order, traffic police department of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Vasileostrovsky District, quarantine phytosanitary control department and department of border veterinary control.
Representatives of “Passenger Port St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC announced the readiness of infrastructure of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg to receive ships and passengers during the summer navigation 2016, identified a list of planned activities related to the development of port infrastructure and noted a number of changes in the organization of the services provision on use of transport infrastructure of “Marine terminal of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade".
According to the approved schedule, this year Passenger Port of St. Petersburg will receive 218 ship calls, aboard which the city will be visited by more than 460 thousand passengers. 12 new vessels will visit Port for the first time in 2016. The navigation will be opened by the call of the ship MSC Musica on May 5, and the closing of summer season is expected on October 11 by the call of AIDAmar vessel.
