September 2017 – results (01.09.2017 - 30.09.2017)

From 01st to 30th of September Passenger port of St. Petersburg has received 21 cruise ships which brought 42 345 passengers to Saint Petersburg.  

The total berth time of the ships is 40 ship-days, total amount of passenger operations – 155 793. 

Services provided to ships:
Fresh water bunkering – 3 772 m3
Garbage collection – 381 m3
Waste-waters reception – 404 m3

In the indicated period 18 helicopters have used the helipad of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg for landing and take-off.

Maximum number of vessels at the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg this month - 7 vessels on 05th of September.

On September 01st “PP SPb MF” PLC representatives as a part of St. Petersburg delegation headed by St Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko paid an official visit to Hamburg (Germany). During the visit a Memorandum of Understanding Between Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC and Port of Hamburg was signed. On the German side, the heads of the Port Authority of Hamburg and the management company Cruise Gate Hamburg took part in the event. Among the main areas of cooperation these should be noted: parties aim at improving the attractiveness of cruise tourism, including organization of cruises during the low season, creating the most comfortable environment for sea passengers, representatives of cruise lines and tour operators, by developing ports’ infrastructure, improving the quality and increasing the quantity of available services, taking other relevant measures.

On September 1st the third season of the television series "Majeure" (the producer company "Wednesday") was shot at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. The genre is detective, thriller, drama. The director of the third season is Igor Tverdokhlebov. Starring - Pavel Priluchny, Karina Razumovskaya, Dmitriy Shevchenko and others.

On 5th of September Passenger port of St. Petersburg again has received 7 cruise ships. During the Baltic Sea cruise the vessels have brought 14 215 passengers abroad. During 2017 cruise season Saga Sapphire has made its first call and other vessels have already made 61 calls at the Port.

On September 7th representatives of "PP SPb MF" PLC took part in the international forum "Water tourism". Within the framework of the working session "Sea cruise tourism: from the acceptance of tourists to the creation of their own routes", the Port representative spoke about the projects implemented on the initiative of the Administration of St. Petersburg together with "PP SPb MF" PLC within the framework of the establishment of proper Center for International Cruise Tourism in Saint Petersburg, including the organization of the ‘turnaround port’ project and completion of cruises on the basis of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg, the implementation of a project to establish a regional shipping company, and noted the need for centralized management of existing cruise terminals in the city and the creation of a modern river port in St. Petersburg.

During the period from 6th to 8th September 2017, Passenger Port of St. Petersburg jointly with representatives of the tourist industry of St. Petersburg took part in the largest European cruise exhibition Seatrade Europe 2017. Within the framework of the international exhibition, a number of business meetings took place between the management of “PP SPb MF” PLC and representatives of leading cruise companies and associations such as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Viking Ocean Cruises, CLIA Europe, during which the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation and development of the cruise industry in the Baltic Sea region and in St. Petersburg, in particular. This year at the international exhibition Cruise Europe one of the most significant events was the "St. Petersburg City Day", which was held on September 6th at the stand of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.

On September 15th, 2017 at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg the annual sports festival "Marine mile-2017" was organized by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg and the Administration of the Vasileostrovsky District. At Passenger Port St. Petersburg, as the central venue of the event, as well as in the waters of the Gulf of Finland and the mouth of the Smolenka River, there were competitions in various sports disciplines, track and field athletics disciplines, weights lifting, armwrestling, tug-of-war, sails races, a dragon boat race, people's rowing and much more. The sports festival was timed to coincide with the 280th anniversary of one of the oldest districts of the Northern capital.

On September 20th representatives of “PP SPb MF” took part in the XIV International Exhibition & Conference on Civil Shipbuilding, Navigation, Ports, Ocean & Shelf – NEVA 2017. Within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of “PP SPb MF” also took part in the panel discussion "Development of cruise shipping".

On September 21st for the first time within the framework of the "Marine Mile" sports festival, the sailing races on yachts in the sea club "Hercules" took place. Thirteen teams took part in the regatta on the yachts of latu 25 class on the water of the Gulf of Finland. The organizers of the event have noted the great importance of holding such an event in the popularization of sports and a healthy lifestyle among young people.

On September 27th within the framework of cooperation between “PP SPb MF” PLC and Hamina-Kotka region, representatives of the city administration, as well as representatives of Cursor Oy and SC Alekseev`s Hydrofoil design bureau paid an official visit to the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. The official meeting was devoted to a number of topical issues on the regular water communication development between the cities of Kotka and St. Petersburg in the framework of the cooperation agreement between “PP SPb MF” PLC, Port Hamina-Kotka and the company Cursor Oy.

On September 28th within the framework of cooperation between “PP SPb MF” PLC and the port of Kotka, the Kotka Port Authority visited Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. During the business meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of the joint action of the South-East Finland-Russia CBC 2014-2020 Programme.

On 29th of September a grand welcoming ceremony and the anniversary celebration of the legendary training ship «Mir» was held at Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg.  The event was attended by the management of “PP SPb MF” PLC, representatives of St. Petersburg City government, FSUE "Rosmorport", Rosmorrechflot, heads of marine industry enterprises, as well as leading marine educational institutions. With the arrival of the “Mir” sailboat to St. Petersburg, 131 cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping completed the training practice.

On September 30th a solemn event of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping Institute of International transport management - "Freshman initiation" took place at Passenger port of St. Petersburg. This is the third solemn ceremony, which was held in the most marine geographical point of the city – at Passenger Port of St. Petersburg.
