Passenger port of Saint-Petersburg at the FITUR exhibition in Madrid

From January 17 to 21, 2018, the representatives of Passenger Port St. Petersburg Marine Facade jointly with Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development and representatives of the leading tourism companies of the city took part in the international tourist exhibition FITUR-2018 in Madrid (Spain). 
 
 

St. Petersburg, as a unique tourist destination and as a city, annually takes part in one of the most important events in the world of the tourist industry - the FITUR exhibition. This year, the St. Petersburg exposition was dedicated to the holding of the World Football Championship. For the first time visitors of the exhibition could watch a series of master-classes on football freestyle from the four-time Russian champion Igor Oleinik at the city stand. Also, as part of the delegation of St. Petersburg, the exhibition hosted business meetings with international representatives of the MICE industry and operators of the tourism industry.
 
 
 
Particularly, the St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko visited the FITUR-2018 exhibition, who arrived in Madrid on an official visit to meet with the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili. During the business meeting, topical issues were discussed on the preparation and holding the 23rd General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in St. Petersburg in 2019.
 
As part of the FITUR-2018 exhibition, Mr. Poltavchenko inspected the exposition area of St. Petersburg and the stand of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg. The Port Authority, represented by General Director Vadim Kashirin, told the Governor about the prospects for the development of port territories and the main investment projects of the Port.
 
 
Recall that FITUR (Feria Internacional de Turismo) is one of the oldest international tourism exhibitions in the world, which is supported by the World Tourism Organization in Madrid in the largest exhibition center in the Spanish capital - IFEMA Feria de Madrid.
