In the territory of the Port, a guided tour was conducted for the delegation with presentation of town-planning and engineering solutions for the construction of a modern sea port in the City of Saint Petersburg.
V.A. Kashirin, the General Director of the Port, told architects about the history of forming the built-up territory of the Vasilievsky Island, as well as the plans and prospects for its further development. The delegation was headed by Christian Rapp, the Chief Architect of Antwerp.
The Belgian delegation, accompanied by the Committee for Urban Development and Architecture, also visited the office of Glorax Development, who implements residential and public business projects in the western part of the Vasilievsky Island. Representatives of the delegation particularly noted the size of the facility in the laconic unique architecture of the Passenger Port, which allows to focus on the types of cruise ships that arrive to the Russian sea capital.
