04 May 2018
On April 3, the cruise ship MSC Preziosa owned by the cruise company MSC Cruises S.A., 333 meters in length, called the Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg, with more than 4,000 passengers on board. The ship’s port of departure was Kiel, Germany.
By tradition, the Port representatives and the ship captain Aiello Stefano exchanged commemorative plaques on board.
When designing MSC Preziosa, the most advanced environmentally friendly technologies were used; the design was developed to meet the requirements of maximum comfort. Distinctive features of the MSC Cruises’ corporate Italian style are beauty, comfort, and luxury. Among tourists, MSC Preziosa is known for her design; for example, the main staircase of the liner is decorated with precious Swarovski crystals.
It is interesting that the original name of the liner was Phenicia; it was built for personal use by Muammar Gaddafi, as the world’s largest private ship. According to the planned design, a 120-ton aquarium with sharks was also provided, but the unfinished ship was left without her customer. Upon the agreement with MSC Cruises on the purchase and the new name: MSC Preziosa, the liner was solemnly transferred to the company.
