Passenger Port took part in panel discussion of Baltic Yacht Week

An opening ceremony of Baltic Yacht Week which is held within Saint Petersburg Marine Assembly took part on August 13, 2018.
This year the event is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of establishment of the first yacht club in the world, Neva Fleet, created by Peter I in 1718 in Saint Petersburg. As part of Baltic Week, different yacht events are going to be held near the Peter and Paul Fortress and in other city sites.
The first day of Baltic Yacht Week witnessed the discussion of yachting issues as part of panel discussion “Event yachting tourism. Saint Petersburg is the venue for international yachting events in Russia“ which took place in the congress hall of the Peter and Paul Fortress. The speakers discussed development prospects of regular yachting events in the water area of Saint Petersburg during high travel season, and stressed the high organization level of sports events. International yachting community shows interest in such events in the territory of Saint Petersburg, and sails in the water area in the center of the city will very soon become recognizable and attractive component of Saint Petersburg tourist brand.
Representatives of Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg reminded the speakers of the traditional sports event “Sea Mile-2018” which is going to be held for the 7th time on September 21 at the site of Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg in conjunction with the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Saint Petersburg and administration of Vasileostrovsky District.
