29 July 2019
On July 27, 2019, the Vasco Da Gama, a ship of Cruise and Maritime Voyages cruise line, called for the first time at the Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg. The passenger capacity of the ship is 1,220 passengers; its length is 219 m; it has 10 decks. The Vasco da Gama combines beautiful modern decor with the traditional style of a classic cruise liner. The ship has relatively small dimensions, as compared to vessels accommodating up to 6,000 passengers; it is a great new addition to the Cruise and Maritime Voyages’ fleet. The Vasco Da Gama cruise ship features a rich heritage and a decent marine pedigree, which could be preserved due to a major update in 2015. Comfortable accommodation in cabins varies from standard to luxury; 80% of cabins look to the ocean. Onboard the Vasco da Gama, the following services are available for travelers: five lounge bars, two swimming pools, a casino, a library, a shopping room, sports grounds, spa, and gym.
By tradition, the liner hosted a plaque exchange ceremony between the Passenger Port representatives and the master of the ship Andrey Lesnichiy.
