Directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Visited the Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg

On July 11, 2019, directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC): A.L. Rakhmanov, President of the USC, and I.V. Shakalo, Director of the Department of Civil Shipbuilding, Acting Vice President of the USC for Civil Shipbuilding, paid a business visit to the Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg. The meeting was held as part of the IX International Naval Salon in the common territory of the Lenexpo Exhibition Center and the “See Station” berth facilities on July 10 to 14, 2019.
The USC’s representatives got acquainted with the history of the establishment of the Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg, the existing infrastructure opportunities, and promising development projects. At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of sea passenger transport services and the implementation of the project for the construction of a cargo and passenger cruise ferry. Previously, as part of the work performed by Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade,” PLC, in cooperation with Modern Commercial Fleet, PLC, and USC, JSC, they agreed upon the possibility of building the ship at the shipyards in the Russian Federation, for its subsequent operation by a domestic shipping company. The implementation of this project will fully comply with the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation to increase the share of civil shipbuilding in the total output of the shipbuilding industry up to 50% by 2030.
