“PP of SPb MF” PLC Took Part in the Interregional Meeting on the Tourism Industry Development

On October 4, 2019, Administration of the city of Sochi held an interregional meeting on the development of the tourism industry in the Krasnodar Territory as part of the cooperation of the Association for Economic Cooperation of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation “Union for Tourism Development in the Russian Federation” and the city of St. Petersburg as the founding region. The meeting discussed the issues of cruise tourism development on the Black Sea coast, implementation of the national project “Export of Services,” reduction of visa barriers, development of car tourism and cinema tourism.
The meeting was chaired by Sergey Krivonosov, Deputy of the State Duma, who told about the Association for Economic Cooperation of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation “Union for Tourism Development in the Russian Federation,” the founders of which were 10 regions of our country, including the Krasnodar Territory. Svetlana Balaeva, the Minister of Resorts, Tourism, and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Territory, said in her presentation that, as part of the implementation of the national project “International Cooperation and Exports,” a set of measures has been approved at the regional level to promote the regional tourism product in the international market.
Aleksey Panfilov, the Commercial Director of “PP of SPb MF” PLC, made a presentation on the cruise tourism development in St. Petersburg and acceptance of foreign ships on the example of the passenger port “Marine Façade”. The meeting participants were informed about the initiatives and projects of “PP of SPb MF” PLC, aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg for cruise lines and the Northern Capital, for foreign cruise tourists. In particular, against the background of introducing the electronic visa in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the initiative was re-announced to modify the current 72-hour visa-free regime for foreign citizens arriving to the Russian Federation on cruise and ferry ships, in order to extend the 72-hour visa-free period for tourists who start and end their cruises in St. Petersburg. The Commercial Director of “PP of SPb MF” PLC also spoke about the development project, including the establishment of a regional passenger shipping company and the required government support.
Vladimir Derkunov, Head of “Sochi Sea Port” JSC, spoke about the prospects for receiving passenger traffic in the Sea Port of Sochi and confirmed that the construction of new liners is an urgent issue.
