Representatives of “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Facade” PLC took part in the international exhibition Seatrade Global in Fort Lauderdale (USA)

From 14 to 17 March 2016 the 32nd annual specialized exhibition Seatrade Global has been held in Fort Lauderdale (USA) - the world's largest event in the cruise industry, which traditionally brings together representatives of the major cruise ports, shipbuilders, ship owners and tour operators. Representatives of “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC in conjunction with the St. Petersburg CCU "Saint-Petersburg Tourist Information Bureau" and representatives of tourism industry of St. Petersburg informed the visitors about the possibilities of the city for reception and service of foreign cruise tourists as well as about the unique opportunity of 72-hours visa-free stay on the territory of Russia for the passengers of cruise and ferry ships. Materials with the information about the main sights of St. Petersburg, the transport infrastructure of the city and the main tourist routes were presented at the booth. Tour operators were able to talk about their competitive advantages and new products directly to representatives of the cruise lines.
During the exhibition, a series of business meetings with ship-owners took place, in which the parties discussed the prospects of development of the Baltic Sea Region and St. Petersburg in particular. During the meetings, the possibilities of increasing the number of cruise ship calls in St. Petersburg and the projected growth in passenger traffic in the coming years, as well as the introduction of new services for cruise ship passengers were discussed. As part of the promotion of initiatives to improve the regime of 72-hour visa-free stay in Russia for passengers using maritime transport only for arrival or departure from the Russian Federation, representatives of “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC discussed the prospects of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg functioning as the point of the beginning and ending of cruises. During the talks, representatives of the cruise lines have expressed full satisfaction with the quality of services provided in the Port and confirmed its intentions for bringing new vessels with high capacity to the Port. In 2016 the port plans to receive 11 new vessels.
Also, within the framework of the exhibition the representatives of “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC took part in the largest specialized conference on the prospects of development of the cruise industry, having had an opportunity to exchange views on the most pressing issues with leading industry experts.
The following year, the exhibition will also be held in March in Fort Lauderdale, United States. “Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC is planning to take part in the exhibition together with the main companies of marine tourism in St. Petersburg.
