10 years of 'Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg 'Marine Facade' PLC

March 20, 2016 "Passenger Port of St. Petersburg" Marine Façade " PLC (hereinafter – “PP of SPb MF" PLC) - the only marine terminal operator in the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg (hereinafter - Port) is celebrating 10 years.
Work on the construction of the port began in October 2005 and three years later in September 2008 Port received its first ship. Fully construction was completed in 2011 after which the Port has been solemnlyb transferred to the city. Today the sole shareholder of the Port is the federal city of St. Petersburg.
Infrastructure of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg meets the current local and international requirements to the objects of port infrastructure which enables us to provide services of the highest quality to passengers and ships. Today the port is recognized by the professional community in the row of the best and most improved passenger port facilities in the world.
In 2009, at the Seatrade Europe Port was awarded with the prize in the nomination «Best Transit Port», in 2011 received the Dream World Cruise Destination 2010 Award in the category "The most improved port facilities." In 2012 and 2014 "PP of SPb MF" PLC was recognized as the best stevedoring company in the category of passenger operations according to the Association of Sea Commercial Ports.
Port annually receives about half a million passengers who have the opportunity to visit St. Petersburg without a visa for up to 72 hours in an organized tourist group. At the same time, in 2009 this figure increased almost twice. In total for seven years from the beginning of its activity Passenger port of St. Petersburg received 1653 ships and the total passenger traffic during the indicated period was 3,052,638 persons. Currently, citizens of 182 countries attended St. Petersburg bypassing Port.
Within ten years (from 2006 to 2015) "PP of SPb MF" PLC has remitted tax and target payments to budgets of reginal and federal levels in the amount of more than 1,4 billion rubles, including 1,08 billion rubles in the budget of St. Petersburg and 847 million rubles - objective funds for social and economic goals.
According to the results of 2015 net profit of "PP of SPb MF" PLC was 68 million 635 thousand rubles while on the payment of dividends to the budget of St. Petersburg will be spent not less than 50 million Rubles.
Today Port takes a leading position in the market of the Baltic region for receiving cruise and ferry vessels and contributes significantly to the promotion of St. Petersburg as a center of cruise tourism. In 2014 St. Petersburg was nominated as the best cruise destinations in the competition Ports & Destinations Awards in the nomination «Best Destination Experience» and in 2015 - in the nomination «Best Tour Experience (Organized)».
At the ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of "PP of SPb MF" PLC employees of the company were marked with honorary letters from the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Committee on Transport and the Committee of the tourism development in St. Petersburg.
