A meeting on the organization and provision of passenger operations in 2017 was held at the Passenger port of St. Petersburg

Today, on 19
th of April, traditional annual meeting dedicated to the beginning of cruise season in 2017 in the Passenger port of St. Petersburg was held.
The aim of the event is to familiarize tour operators-partners of the Passenger port of St. Petersburg with plans for the forthcoming cruise season, and also with changes and innovations in terms of the organization passenger operations and transport security.
Annually organized meeting provides an opportunity for participants to receive detailed answers from representatives of city and regional administrations, governmental control bodies and the Passenger port of St. Petersburg representatives on the issues arising in the course of servicing cruise passengers.
The meeting was attended by 95 tour operator companies who were able to get acquainted with the reports of "PP SPb MF" PLC, the Deputy Captain of seaport "Passenger Port of St. Petersburg",
The head of the tourist infrastructure department, the representatives of the Committee on transport of St. Petersburg, Committee on Tourism and Development of St. Petersburg, the Administration of Vasileostrovsky district, Deputy Head of Checkpoint "St. Petersburg Sea Passenger Port " and also police representatives and Acting Head of the supervision department of transport and sanitary protection of Vasileostrovsky district.
General Director of "PP SPb MF" PLC Vadim Kashirin reported on the Passenger port of St. Petersburg infrastructure readiness to receive ships and passengers in cruise season 2017, identified a list of planned activities related to the development of port infrastructure and noted a number of changes in the organization of the services provision on use of transport infrastructure of “Marine terminal of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg "Marine Façade", as well as enhanced security measures during big events in the city.
According to the approved schedule, this year Passenger port of St. Petersburg will receive 243 ship calls, aboard which the city will be visited by more than 540 thousand passengers. 9 new vessels will visit Port for the first time in 2017. The navigation will be opened by the call of the ship Viking Sky on May 2, and the closing of summer season is expected on October 17 by the call of AIDAvita vessel.
