Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg at the INWETEX 2018

From October 11 to October 12, INWETEX 2018, the major tourism trade show of the North-West of Russia, was held in the EXPOFORUM International Convention-and-Exhibition Centre, boasting an expanded business program and official support of the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee. Representatives of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg took part in the trade show at the northern capital booth organized by the St. Petersburg Trade Show and Convention Bureau. In total, commercial companies from 23 regions of Russia and 13 countries of the world took part in INWETEX 2018.
As part of the trade show, SAINT PETERSBURG TRAVEL HUB, a large-scale travel forum, opened its doors for the first time. The event was organized by the Tourism Development Committee as a new platform for the exchange of ideas between professionals in the field of tourism from St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia and abroad.
The opening ceremony of SAINT PETERSBURG TRAVEL HUB at the St. Petersburg booth was attended by members of the Government of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as representatives of countries, participating in INWETEX 2018. In his welcome speech to participants and guests of the event, Alexander Beglov, the alternate Governor of St. Petersburg, said that tourism development in St. Petersburg is a strategic task of the City Government, and also added that in recent years, the northern capital has made great strides in strengthening its image. St. Petersburg is a three-time winner of World Travel Awards, the main international award in tourism. Recently, St. Petersburg has taken the lead in two more nominations, becoming the best cruise and cultural tourist destination in Europe. More than 30 practical sessions and round tables, interactive events in the format of master classes, workshops and presentations of services of the tourist market of St. Petersburg were held in total within the business program of SAINT PETERSBURG TRAVEL HUB and INWETEX 2018.
