St. Petersburg became the best European cruise destination according to World Travel Awards

On June 30, 2018 in Athens, the results of the European World Travel Awards 2018 were announced. St. Petersburg became the winner in two categories at once: "The Best European Cruise Line" and "The Best Cultural and Tourist Destination in Europe". In the category "The Best cruise destination of Europe", St. Petersburg competed with cities such as Amsterdam, Athens, Bodrum and Cannes. In the category "The Best Cultural and Tourist Destination in Europe", it was possible to bypass such popular destinations as Venice, Vienna, London, Paris, Barcelona.
In total, in 2018 St. Petersburg was presented in 3 nominations of the prestigious award: the leading urban destination of Europe 2018, the leading European destination for weekend trips 2018, the leading European cruise destination 2018. The WTA Prize was founded in 1993 to highlight outstanding success in all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the WTA Prize is a brand recognized worldwide as a sign of quality, and the winners in nominations determine the development of the tourism industry, which all others want.
