Alexander Beglov, Acting Governor of St. Petersburg, Presented the Development Projects of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg at the SPIEF 2019

On the first official day of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, June 6, at the Expoforum, the leadership of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg presented several investment projects to Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC, including the establishment of the Center for International Cruise Tourism, organization of marine passenger shipping company, and the development project of the Marine Station complex, which came under the supervision of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC in December 2018. Alexander Beglov, Acting Governor of St. Petersburg, and Yevgeny Elin, Vice Governor, considered all the projects.
The development projects of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC were aimed at creating the infrastructure for organizing the port for starting and ending cruises within the premises of the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg and organizing cruises from the Passenger Port of St. Petersburg to the Baltic region. Vadim Kashirin, Director General of Passenger Port of St. Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC, noted the high attractiveness of St. Petersburg for tourists staying in the passenger port with cruise ships, while creating the prerequisites for an increase in the period of staying of tourists in St. Petersburg. The implementation of investment projects would have a positive effect on the city’s economy, create new jobs and contribute to the development of the tourist infrastructure of St. Petersburg.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2019 will last until June 8. This year, the program of the Forum consists of four thematic blocks: “The Global Economy in Search of a Balance”, “The Russian Economy: Achieving National Development Goals”, “Technologies Shaping the Future” and “People First”. The Forum program includes 150 events in various formats. More than 1,000 moderators and speakers, including foreign experts, will perform on the issues of social and economic development, transport, ecology, healthcare, culture and tourism, education and science within four days.
